This Cookie Policy explains how The Origin Institute® (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the Sensorama™ platform and website (www.sensoramaai.com). This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

    The short version: We use only essential cookies required for the platform to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics that collect personal data. No cookie consent banner is legally required for our cookies, but we inform you about them for full transparency.
  

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website or application. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to site operators. “Similar technologies” include localStorage, sessionStorage, and other browser storage mechanisms.

2. Cookies We Use

We use a minimal set of cookies, all of which are essential for the secure operation of the platform:

3. Cookies We Do NOT Use

For clarity, we want to be explicit about what we do not do:

No advertising cookies. We do not serve ads and do not use any advertising-related cookies or pixels (no Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or similar).
No third-party tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any other third-party tracking service that collects personal data.
No cross-site tracking. We do not track your activity across other websites.
No profiling. We do not use cookies to build behavioural profiles or personalise advertising.
No social media cookies. We do not embed social media widgets that place tracking cookies.

4. Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand basic website usage patterns (such as page views and visit counts). This service is specifically designed to be privacy-preserving:

It does not use cookies.
It does not collect personally identifiable information (PII).
It does not track individual users across sessions or websites.
It does not use fingerprinting techniques.
All data is aggregated and anonymised.
Data is retained for a rolling 30-day window and then discarded.

Because Cloudflare Web Analytics does not process personal data, it does not require consent under GDPR or the ePrivacy Directive.

5. Legal Basis

Under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in Dutch law via the Telecommunicatiewet), strictly necessary cookies do not require user consent. They are essential for providing the service you have requested.

Our legal basis for setting strictly necessary cookies is legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and the exemption under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive for cookies that are “strictly necessary” for providing a service explicitly requested by the user.

We display a cookie information banner as a transparency measure, not because consent is required for the cookies we use.

6. How to Manage Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

Delete some or all cookies.
Block cookies from specific websites.
Block all third-party cookies.
Block all cookies (note: this may prevent the platform from functioning correctly).

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Sensorama platform from functioning correctly. In particular, blocking the XSRF cookie will prevent you from using the analyst dashboard and panelist booth.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we introduce new types of cookies (particularly non-essential cookies), we will update this policy and, where required by law, seek your consent before using them. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
